LFC teams participated at the Glavin/Fusz Fall Friendlies this weekend.
The 2007 Girls, 2008 Girls, and 2009 Boys continued their preseason preparations this weekend by participating in the Lou Fusz/Tony Glavin Fall Kickoff Friendlies. The friendly style tournament was hosted at the Lou Fusz Soccer Complex, Lou Fusz Athletic Training Center and the Tony Glavin Soccer Complex. Overall the event was attended by over 175 teams from 4 states.
The 2008 Girls, coach by Alex Ramirez went 1-1-1 on the weekend in their three games. On Saturday the girls drew their first match 2-2 against Lou Fusz - White Star Kirkpatrick before going on to win their second match of the day 2-1 over Lou Fusz - White Star Degazon. On Sunday the girls dropped their only game of the day 4-2 against Kolping Kicks.
The 2009 Boys, again coached my Alex Ramirez, started their transition from 7v7 soccer to the 9v9 variety by finishing the weekend 1-1-1 as well. The boys lost a tough match to Tony Glavin 4-3 in their first game Saturday but recovered to win their afternoon game 4-2 against Lou Fusz - White Star. In their final game Sunday the boys went up against Kixx United and were able to come away with a 3-3 draw.
As their preparations continue in moving into the 11v11 game, the 2007 girls finished the weekend with 2 wins and 1 loss. The girls faced off against Lou Fusz - White Star on Saturday morning and came away with a 3-2 win before losing their afternoon game 4-1 to Missouri Rush. In their Sunday match the girls cruised to an 8-0 victory over Tony Glavin SC.
The Fall Kickoff Friendlies were a great event for the three teams to continue to prepare for the season ahead. The SLYSA campaign kicks off for the 2007 Girls against Ajax on August 26th. The 2008 girls begin their season on August 25th against Lou Fusz while the 2009 boys kick off on the 24th against PAO.
